A Reverence That Guides Our Lives

In today’s world, the word "fear" often carries a negative connotation—something to be avoided or conquered. However, in the Bible, the fear of God is not about being afraid of Him; rather, it is about having deep respect, awe, and reverence for His holiness, power, and authority. This type of fear is what keeps us aligned with His will and invites His presence into every aspect of our lives.

Reverence for God in Our Daily Lives

Proverbs 9:10 says, "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding." When we truly fear the Lord, we recognize that He is the ultimate source of wisdom and guidance. This means seeking Him in our decisions, honoring Him in our actions, and trusting Him in our struggles.

When we revere God, our perspective shifts. We no longer live for ourselves, but for Him. Every business venture, relationship, and personal goal should be built on the foundation of faith and obedience to His word. Colossians 3:17 reminds us, "And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him." This scripture encourages us to invite God into every aspect of our lives, ensuring that our choices reflect His love and truth.

Including God in Everything We Do

Too often, people compartmentalize their faith—separating their spiritual life from their work, friendships, and ambitions. But true reverence for God means including Him in everything. Psalm 37:5 states, "Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him and He will do this." When we surrender our plans to Him, He blesses and directs our steps.

Making God the center of our lives means seeking Him in prayer before making decisions, measuring our actions against His word, and dedicating our talents and resources to His glory. When we do this, we align ourselves with His divine purpose, and He moves through us to impact the world around us.
